Coed Verify Xero Accounting. Everyone info. At Xero, protecting your data is fundamental to everything we do. Just one easily guessed password can stop your business in its tracks. So Xero has put an extra deadbolt on the door to help keep your data secure. This is why Xero uses MFA to secure logins. The Xero Verify app is simple to use. You can receive push notifications for fast authentication, instead of having to open the app and enter a code into Xero qt you login.

The developer provided this information and may update it over time. This app may share these data types with third parties Location, App activity, and App info and performance. This app may collect these data types Personal info, App activity and 2 others. Data is encrypted in transit. You xero qr code for authenticator app request that authenyicator be deleted. Yeah let’s just complicate things more because technology is supposed to make life easier.

I mean, I sure hope nobody steals my highly classified estimates and invoices. The customer support instructions say to push the “get in touch” button which doesn’t actually exist I am stuck in a loop and can’t contact them. This authenticator should probably be an optional feature. Heck, some people might pay extra for that. I want to cancel autenticator subscription at this point. I have TFA enabled on half a dozen other sites and apps i use, and none of these require a secondary app to get the job done, or a backup email address.

Still, it did perform as intended and get me set up on the first try. Three stars for actually working, two off for having to do it with yet another app. There is a better way. Overall a pleasure xero qr code for authenticator app work with Xero, but limited qg templates and quote layout options as well as authenticatod options.

Xero qr code for authenticator app.Add a second layer of security with multi-factor authentication

Jun 03,  · Enter the authentication code provided by your authenticator app into Xero, then clickNext. If you chose “Scan QR Code”, make sure you align the scanning target with the QR code image shown on Step 1 of the “Set up Two-factor Authentication” pop-up. An authenticator or authentication app generates security codes for logging in to sites that require a high level of security. These apps can be used to retrieve security codes and don’t need to have an internet connection. No. Xero Verify doesn’t connect to your Xero account, nor do other authenticator apps. Xero Verify simply provides. If you’re using the device you’ve installed the authenticator app on to navigate the setup flow, you’ll have to tap Enter key instead of scanning the QR code. Switch from your browser app to your authenticator app and tap the add icon (+) then enter your email address and setup key, before continuing in Xero.

Multi-factor authentication FAQs.Xero qr code for authenticator app

Rya Heirbaut asked a question. Hi everyone, though we do our best to help out throughout Discussions this really is a platform for community conversation. It’s good to see you each helping one another out here.

For direct 1-on-1 support it is best to raise a case through Contact Xero Support. Being a new experience, we’ve tried to make this as seamless as possible to set up, but know there maybe be small hurdles and appreciate all feedback. We’ve released a resource hub on our website for those regions this is being made mandatory – That takes you through how multi-factor adds a new layer of security to your account, how to setup and get going faster with push notifications through Xero Verify.

Thanks for clearly noting the steps, Richard – I’ve Marked this as Best to highlight in the conversation. This support is not very accessible, can’t get a straight answer. Looks like we all want to know and XERO does not think they need to provide an answer. I am going to move back to MYOB at least they have people you can call! If it is already enabled disable it and then start afresh. Thanks for jumping in here Justine – that is exactly right! When you get a new phone you need to disable your existing 2SA set up, before it can be set up for your new phone.

Maya, that answer isn’t good enough. I can’t find the bloody QR code in Xero. I can’t disable my existing 2SA set up – the original phone is gone. This is frustrating. I just want to scan the new QR code. It needs to be way more prominent within the web version of Xero. The problem is that what Maya has said is correct, but to find it in the Xero help documents, you’ll go old and gray going around in circles.

Please put a clear “What to do if you can’t find the QR code” section – ie then explain that if you are setting up a new app you need to disable the whole thing and start again. This thread is the only place I could find it and I was about to email support for something that could have been in the help docs. Please update it. Thanks for backing me up Donna. Maya, for Pete’s sake, make the QR code easy to find! I followed those instructions in the link you provided and it got me nowhere.

Now I have to log into Xero using my security questions each time. Your system doesn’t have a facility to remember the login details when you access the website using security questions. So I need to answer those security questions over and over again. It’s an unsatisfactory experience. Please address the problem as soon as possible. That’s exactly what happened to me!

My App wasn’t working on my new phone, I went around in circles trying to find out how to get it to work then realised I could use the back up email sending a code. So I did that for a while, clicking the “don’t ask me for another 30 days” so I could at least get 30 days reprieve but as you say, recently you can’t even do that so it’s every. Was driving me batty so this morning I sat down to work it out. I was about to email support when I saw this thread and realised I had to uninstal the whole two-factor thing and start again to see the QR code.

It’s very clumsy but even if that’s the only way to do it – add a very clear link in the help docs to explain it. I’ve also sent this to support so I am guessing they will fix it as overall Xero is good with that sort of stuff. This has just been something that’s been missed. Did anyone ever find the answer to this? No one ever answered this question!

This is absolutely crap service from Xero. I’m sick of having to answer the secret questions to get access to the app. It’s a hinderance. Xero didn’t answer the question properly and didn’t fix the problem. I’ve recently changed phones, so google authenticator stopped working. Instructions in the help are incorrect and a process needs to be updated for change of phone. It should be made much easier. Thanks so much, everyone – not sure I would ever have been able to work this out, but glad to know I’m not the only one!

Great answer from John Kurta. Managed to get in – the official answer from Xero was so rubbish that it actually confused things not improved them. Appreciate the feedback – Sometimes messages can land differently for each person. Good to hear, one of the solutions provided here has helped you get in. Thanks Richard Trurong.
