You may update the drivers from the device manager as mentioned ion the previous post or download it from the manufacturer’s website. I just had the same issue when I did a Windows update a little while ago. Click Uninstall. Reboot your computer when it’s finished for the changes to take effect.

If you look in the device manager before you reboot, the driver or Display Adapters may not even be there. Once rebooted, the screen will go blank or flicker a few times, but all should be right with the world afterward.

I have an old Dell Studio laptop. I have been running Windows 10 Technical Preview ever since the program kicked-off and everything was running fine. Post update, the display resolution switched to x or something like that. My laptop screen supports resolution. Digging into the display settings showed that the display adapter listed is “Windows Basic Display Driver”.

When I checked its properties it says the driver is up to date and the device is enabled too. As per the description, I understand that you are facing some issues using Windows I would suggest you to try the steps to set the perfect resolution for the display and check if that helps.

Right click on the mouse and select the option display settings. Under resolution tab set the perfect display resolution for your computer and check. If you are unable to set the resolution, I would suggest you to uninstall the update and check if that helps.
